Description

We have taken on a new instruction from our client in Essex for multiple, experienced, remotely based local authority food specialists.
The role itself
Your role will be to ‘track and trace’ cluster outbreaks of Coronavirus. This will be determining current and past locations of individuals suspected to, or having been diagnosed with Coronavirus. You would need to be able to gather information to establish who may be at risk of contraction. Once locations are identified, you may then need to carry out an inspection pertinent to your findings. Therefore, this will not only be restricted solely to food establishments.

You must have had some experience and knowledge of infection control. For example, dealing with Norovirus/Salmonella/Ecoli outbreaks and taking action as appropriate to to prevent the spread of the virus. It would be advantageous if you are familiar, and have worked with the likes of the Health Protection Agency, and attended meetings where threats to human health from infectious diseases are a topic of discussion.

When you are not dealing with calls and duties relating to the track and trace system, you will be carrying out reactive work and urgent visitations; namely conducting face to face visits of premises where a resolution could not be found telephonically or through other possible means. You will be required to implement enforcement as well as serving Health and Safety notices.

Job details

The contract will run for an initial 3 month period with a very likely extension thereafter. It is a full time (30 – 37hrs per week) post. The start date will be either the 26th June or the 13th July . You will be working on a rota basis whereby you will work Mon – Fri for several weeks and then be required to work Wed – Sun. The role will be remote based.

The rate of pay will be competitive.

Relevant experience/qualifications

You must meet the requirements of the Food Standards Agency's Code of Practice to undertake food hygiene enforcement.

In order to be considered it is absolutely essential that you are an EHRB registered EHO who has experience completing Food Hygiene inspections in all risk premises.

You must be able to prove your food competency with over 20 hours of CPD and you must have completed a Food Hygiene Inspection for a Local Authority in the last 6 months.

A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB (or equivalent) must be held on file by Buckingham Futures before the contract commences.

You must have first-hand experience of dealing with infectious diseases.

Attributes

The ideal candidate for this role will be enthusiastic, flexible and confident. You would not be afraid of a challenge and be of a tenacious nature.
